In general, the dry and granular tailing, produced from the gravity separation plants, can be conveyed by the skip bucket, mine car, belt conveyor, aerial cableway, or by railway. However, the slurry tailing, discharged from the flotation separation plants or the magnetic separation plants, can be generally conveyed by the slurry pump through the lifting transportation. If the terrain elevation differences are proper, the gravitational flow transportation method can be adopted. Whether you adopt the gravitational flow method or the pump transportation method can be determined according to the terrain condition. Or, the two transportation methods can be combined.
Generally, the dry and granular tailing, discharged from the gravity separation plants, can be directly piled into tailing pile or be directly piled in the valley. The slurry tailing, discharged from the magnetic separation or gravity separation plants, should be transported to the tailing storehouse. However, there are several types of the building location of the tailing storehouse.
